About this stone
An unheated yellow sapphire that has crossed three carats, which is where this material starts to get genuinely difficult to find. The colour is a warm honey gold — richer and more buttery than the lemon tones in the paired lots — and it deepens noticeably toward the ends of the elongated oval. Look into the table in the second image and you can see faint internal silk. That is not a defect to apologise for: undisturbed silk is exactly the sort of evidence a laboratory looks for when confirming a stone has never been heated, and it is part of what this lot is. Cut as a long oval that will set beautifully east-west.
