Sapphire occurs in violet far less often than it occurs in blue, pink or yellow, and unheated violet above three carats is genuinely uncommon. This is a soft lilac — a pale, cool, slightly grey-lavender that reads almost pastel in daylight and picks up a stronger purple cast under warm light. It is a quiet stone rather than a loud one, and it suits someone who wants a colour that people cannot immediately name. Never heated, cut as a clean oval at 3.02 carats, and the only violet in the collection.
Weight and measurements are taken in-house. An independent laboratory report from a recognised gemmological institute can be arranged for this lot before purchase — ask for it in your enquiry.
